Call Of War

Call Of War

A Poem by EternityWolf101
"

I was watching a preview of Black Ops 2 and this came to me. Yes, it does refer to a war between animals and humans. Confusing... but entertaining.

"

My fellow furs

The best description of a living hell I could give you

Has become our new campground

The ground beneath our paws has risen

Millions of wolves and lions with lost mothers and fathers

have become long forgotten in the call of war

Scars have cloned in our fur

Making our medals and ranks lose meaning

I can't ask you to leave

Nor can I ask you to stay

My father and his father before mine have forbidden me so

The future is gone, my friends

And the enemy has driven our own into insanity

And I'm afraid I may have as well

When I must ask you this

Will you die out there with millions of humans running towards you?

Will you die in the cold winter storm for everyone back home?

For your mothers and fathers, brothers and sisters, bless they be alive?

Because they are waiting for their sons, husbands, and brothers to return

And I know you are waiting for them as well

This old fox won't be there for you

You have to be there for yourselves

And for each other

This is for our own

This is for furry kind

I really liked this. So much power in such easy-going words.

You wrote it so simple and passive yet you speak about action. Good job, I liked it :)

Braveheart of the forest.
Interesting perspective on the insanity of humankind as viewed by those under threat of extinction. One day, they may decide the old foxes are correct and just rise up.
Great images.

I liked this. I liked the perspective and the call to arms or paws, rather. It was good. Almost like the Prologue to a book.

This is certainly something a bit different from the usual. I loved the way you have managed to bring forth a different side of war, with animals, in a rather unique manner and I felt this 'oomph' as I read it. Conclusion's perfect, loved it overall.

thats amazing.... i find myself wondering how the war will end! Very powerful writing indeed. the flow of it... though its different in each part... seems to run together perfectly.

An interesting concept you penned here. Thought provoking.
I dread the thought of it reaching this end.

This is emotional yet powerful, but it's also unusual and unique to write how animals think and they're fight for life. I like your different flow in each stanza and your vision. Thanks for sharing..Well done :D

I`m not sure I understand what Black Ops 2 is, being myself many thousand of years old, but I´ll ask my boys, and I liked the poem with its enigmatic and unusual theme.

that is so cool! it gives a sort of insight to the world of animals and the war they live. not only against each other, but against us.
