Author's Note

The triolet is a rare medieval French poetic form. The form of a triolet is
a/b/a/repeat line 1/a/b/ repeat lines 1 & 2. It is supposed to be in iambic tetrameter: da DUM da DUM da DUM da DUM but that's beyond my meager talent at the moment.

I just tried this form myself. You did a nice job. I like the modern subject matter for a medieval form.

This form is more familiar to me than i realised from its name. Another thing that hadn't occurred to me before is that I-Pod seems to desribe something that is part of the 'I', and the self. I think this poem is the medium for that new interpretation.
The use of the I-Pod motif brings a modernity to this piece, though it still has a classic nature.. I really like the image and idea that has been brought out through this poem: that, when one lives with one's music collection, one lives with the markers of one's life.
