Careful Spectre

Careful Spectre

A Poem by Eudaimoniac
"

My passing attempt at a pantoum

"

We really didn’t want him there
a lone man walking in the shadows
a face so cruel, so solitude
we didn’t think he’d come for us

a lone man walking in the shadows
but in his hand he carried hope
we didn’t think he’d come for us
upon this path of our salvation

but in his hand he carried hope
a Trojan horse for all to share
upon this path of our salvation
we broke his bread and ate his flesh

a Trojan horse for all to share
we really couldn’t stand him there
we broke his bread and ate his flesh
his face was bare his breath like wine.
