Unexpected

Unexpected

A Poem by rhEA
"

Facing uncertainties? Pray.

"

Rushing in the road I stumble

I bump, fall, was step by

Tried to stand and walk to the sides

Then fell, onto the ground of nothingness

I break feeling down and dumb

Looking around, people briskly passing through

Wondering if one would give a second look

To the clumsy weakling that fell

Now stunned and cannot get up

Up in the sky I pray for help

Time passed, enough to give me rest

Maybe this is set as a test

To perceive the inner strength

Provided to concur all

Slowly the fallen tried to stand tall

A smile starts to form

A force caused another fall

A stranger now in my arms

A look common but intriguing

A feeling new and startling

Just when I gathered the strength to stand

You made me fall over again

Who are you to make my heart run?

Who are you to make falling divine?

Why now and not before?

As we stand still staring you smiled

Are you the answer to my prayer?

Such timing made me overwhelm

As we shook hands we shared our names

Will it end as farewell?

One look and I am taken

One smile and I melted

One gesture will end it all?

No, I can’t let it

As I turn around you are there

Facing me with a bright smile

A poem that hits the reader with a quick rhythm, accellerating speed of thoughts and a good use of anaphoras (most of all, sounds with "db" and repetition of "ll"). Visions of loneliness and salvation, sadness turning into an hopefull happiness. I personally appreciate a lot when a poet is able to translate both his dark and positive side and it seems you do. If I may just express an opinion, I'd say some words are too long and break the musicality of the poem (words such as 'nothingness' which may sound quite emphatic). I'd suggest only to work more on the gestalt of the feeling, which in other words can be said: don't try to express always your feelings in a clear and rational way. But exceed, go extreme and waild, if your heart commands you so. Intense and genuine. Good poem

About
I seek rice and was shown a dry rice field. It flourished and was offered to me but I declined. The rice is now in front of me but I still chose to leave. Their offer was more than I seek yet I was.. more..
