Summer Love

Beautiful in the dark

Lost in a world full of sparks

Scared to show her face

Speaks, but no one hears her voice

Hiding behind her wall of lies

Kept it up after all this time

Smiling even through the pain

After all this time she still remembers his name

Only around him did she feel

The emotion of love and it was real

But life was cold and cruel

And they were ripped apart before he even knew

Even now her love shines bright

Because for her, he was the only light

But as it would be, he would never remeber

The summer with a girl as cold as December

Strong imagery! Powerful theme! That last line is killer! The only place where it falls flat is in musicality. Certain lines, namely lines 8 and 12 need trimming for the musicality to carry over. Other than that, this is wonderful. Well done!!

(musicality, mind you, is not the same as rhythm/metre, but rather the fluidity from line to line and thought to thought).

A lot of real life emotions felt in the words.
