My Wish For You

I wish to see you fall to the floor

like I did

I want to see you squirm

clutch at your chest

because the pain is eating you up from the inside

have your heart ripped from its tendons

like I have

I want to see you hurt

as much as I did

bleed hopelessness and loss

cry tears enough to fill the seven seas

I want you to swallow all your sorrow

keep it inside

like I have

I want to not hear you when you scream

as you have not heard me

I wish to pretend you aren't there

begging for something you do not know

like you pretended

I want you to drown

under thick waves of despair

having your breath stolen

for moments at a time

like I have

I cannot say these things

because if the roles were really reversed

I would not be so cruel
