A Poem by Nontani

I was given a blank sheet of paper,
and told to fill it with anything.
But a blank sheet of paper is only a sheet of paper,
without a thought in mind.

If I was given a blank mind,
I wouldn’t have to fill the blank sheet of paper.
But a blank mind would be the worst to fear,
without a question to ask.

If I was given a blank question,
I could fill it with everything I want.
But a blank question would only lead to curiosity,
without an answer in sight.

If I was given a blank answer,
they’d give me a blank piece of paper to write the ending.
But I have a blank sheet of paper,
with nothing to write.

Oh- I'm supposed to be confused? Haha. This makes all the sense in the world to me. I am in love with this poem... I'm more than halfway tempted to write this on the inside cover of my journal so I can read it over and again. Fabulous work, phenomenal icon. (:

This is an interesting piece. I see where you are trying to go with it. However, it just feels ... incomplete. I guess I was expecting more. You are building to a GREAT CRESCENDO!! but then it is done. I want a PUNCH, a big meaning, something that is the reason for this poem to exist. If you say that you are confused, you need to keep at this. It is a great start, but I fear that is all that it is at this point. A start. Keep at it! I really want to see what you can make of this idea! It is definitely a good one! All the best.
