Deep

Deep

A Poem by E.V. Black

Soft kisses rain upon the skin,

each a burn on the flesh.

In the night

heavenly sighs exhale sweetly

in the burning atmosphere.

Lovers whisper tender words and

share a gentle embrace.

Deep desire,

stoke the fire

with the steady beat

of the heart.

Racing, pounding, throbbing

heart in their heads.

Love flows

and desire grows.

Sweetness, blossom...

Inhale the intoxicating perfume

as lips caress lips

and passion ignites.

Crave the being

of the other

and delve deep into the

undeniable warmth.

Two bodies melt into one.

Flames of wanting

smolder heavily as

magic casts the two

into each other.

Desire the essence

and feel the presence

of elongated gazes from

star shine eyes underneath

dark lashes.

Heart versus heart

in a battle to be

the one in control.

Both control.

Deep sins melt

the other's resolve.

Logic doesn't exist here;

only the dreams

and the beautiful fantasies

of the spirit.

Heart subsides into

the steady beating of

two hearts within one whole.

In each other's arms they lie

and rise to the heavenly sighs

of the once

racing, pounding, throbbing

hearts in their heads.

Intoxicating perfume of the flesh

enters the dreams of fancy,

soft hair tickles the cheek

as sleep sprouts.

The two bodies melt into one,

the lovers always true.

Deeply they shall lie

in passion,

in sleep,

and in love.

Author's Note

As a novice to romantic and lustful poems, this was me long ago tip-toeing into that heavy genre. Now, I never intend to be too heavy. I love to make my works lyrical like Shakespeare so that they are beautiful to read and also magical. More than just regular lust. Something...more.

I may be a fellow competitor in this competition for "lustful" poetry, but that does not prevent me from saying that this is a very nice piece of work. Great imagery. I love the short (non-lustful) line, "as sleep sprouts" -- for some reason it just made me smile. I suddenly envisioned druggy vines rising from the mattress and entwining your lovers.

You may not be writing verse of this type any longer, but your talent certainly shows here. I guess I'll have to read more of your work; if you have improved since this write (which you should have, over time), you must be producing some damned impressive work.

i think you trod the line between romantic and lustful quite well in this poem, though i don't think of restraint and lust as very good bed-partners in general. this is very nicely done. good writing.

Logic doesn't exist here........this line stood out to me overall. Logic never exists in love now does it? It is what it is. Such a lovely piece!

ah very nice! you tip toed into the genre well in that case then! I loved the idea of "heart in their heads." - often people tend to view them separate - the psyche/conscience and then matters of heart - the suggestion of the two blending together intrigued me! enjoyed!
