IF

If thoughts could be felt

And feelings perceived,

To contemplate instinct

And doubts were believed

If experience knew fate

And destiny knew change

If impulse was logic

And nature estranged

Then all that I know

Would be yet to be dealt

So that all that I learn

Would become what I felt
