Joseph Of DreamsA Poem by Anne KorhonenA poem about Joseph who had dreams and revelations in the BibleOh you dearest son of Israel Your father cherished you that day By giving you a long colorful gown Your brothers got jealous, they wanted you to go away but they didn't know about your wisdom that you'd be promoted in Egypt's kingdom from a slave to become a counselor of crown God gave you a gift to see omen dreams it made you shine like sun beams you saw other sheaves bowing yours and the sun, moon and stars from heaven's doors You shone angelic light of beauty God blessed you to succeed in your duty Your brothers turned you down by deceit but you survived because of your humble belief Woman's lust and lie led you into jail Even there in your purity you didn't fail Then the baker and bartender had dreams You could interpret their minds' streams God opened your cage for power and freedom And the pharaoh asked you to interpret his and you became the prince of Egypt like this daughter of high priest gave you two boys and you brought to Egypt endless joy By your blessing they survived from hunger and war their glory wasn't wounded with any scars and your family was to know your destiny Israel blessed you and your sons then he passed away and in this glorious land your brothers were allowed to stay They became loyal to your hand You loved your enemies like Christ and you saved many people's lives Copyright 2017.
