The Runaway

The Runaway

A Poem by Ezekiel Silver
"

Year poem was written: 2012

"
He flees for a land of isolation.
             Fearing all but solitude.
      Outcasted by everyone within society.
             Chased by gruesome predators.

Searching for a place he can belong in.
             With the hope of sanctuary.
This boy longs for others who understand him.
             For people just like him.

He has no family or friends to call for help.
            He is abandoned and neglected.
Left in a world of cruelty and greed.
Forced to survive on his own.

This lost and wandering boy is simply called,
                        the runaway.

I got the idea for this when I saw a stray dog near a park.

It actually reminds me of a dog... This world is cold.

Thankfully, not completely.

Yes, you're right. It depends very much on the people in your life :)
Nice poem. I like S1,2,3.
But it would be better if you won't explain it to make the title clear. Actually, the 3 stanzas are enough and the poem is really nice without the last one (This lost and wandering boy is simply called, the runaway) which seems the weakness of this poem.
Sometimes, you still have a powerful title even if you won't repeat it in any line.
