We Are Human?

We Are Human?

A Poem by F.Gentil
"

Fighting a battle that has already been won

"
Well why don't we feel?
So insensitive to each other..
No one speaks about the issues..
They don't exist,... right?
Yet, when they are constantly brought to awareness...
Constantly brought to the light...
 Why don't the people speak?
Why when I watch TV my knees get weak?
I can't sleep..
Got nightmares constantly on repeat.
Because I care about not just myself but every other human being.
If I could tell you the reason I spent time in jail.
You'd say it's unreal
"Yo, Swa you need to chill."
But I look in a daze,
Through the peripheral of my eyes,
With the summer haze
That fluctuates
Memories of my past and future.
Remember why my soul was fighting against lucifer.
I wasn't going crazy.
It wasn't just from the accidental mix of lortabs mixed with addies.
I was seeing the world around me in a vision of what's to happen.
just didn't know how to take it all in.

Everyday a revelation emerges
That makes me realize the time in the pen
Wasn't because of I.
But because of the way I have to touch the lives.
Of many humans caught in the system.
My brothers in the struggle.
The love of a neighbor, friend, even stranger because I am his brother.
Because I swear that day
That I keep on reliving.
Is the day I saw the good angels and bad demons
 of every single being.
I was taunted and mocked,
Loved and hated.
Feared and afraid.
But most of all,
Aware that I wanted to save the lives of others.
I knew where I was going.
Well my soul knew or felt it.
How did it feel?
Like I was being crucified that day.
That's why I ran away.
Those men and women will be forever scarred.
Of a man who didn't do any physical harm.
Whose soul  for a day felt one with god.
Lord I don't proclaim to be Jesus because he is, and I follow.
But he moves and lives in and  through me
He is  moving through every vowel.
Yet, as I would holla
"I'm your brother and your my sister and brothers." to the others....
Licks from cops who lost god pounded into my skull,
The ones who knew my love  just watched because they knew to trust.
Because they knew that there was god and god was love.
They knew my soul was as pure as a snow white dove.
Yet I felt I had to take it.
Those slurs and slants.
The demonic chants.
Because that day the sins of the world was my faith.
And I did everything that it had to take.
To sacrifice my blood,
So everyone who had faith would
Be ok.

To be so selfless in that moment.
That chase that day.
Yet I only had a taste of what my savior faced
And  Now I'm watching everything in an entirely  new way.
And I stare. Only because I care.
Because I feel what others don't even know is there.

We are human.
Hear us speak.
We are human.
You and me.
Yet, where does humanity lie
when the soul of a demolishing country cries?
There is only one entity who can wipe it's mourning eyes.
And no he doesn't live in a penthouse. Or from his billion dollar villa watching the sunrise.
Its God.
No surprise.
Swallow your pride,
Because one day the prince of lies
Will lose his peaceful disguised
Beauty is his muse.
Music is what he use.
Look at all the clues.
It's right in front of you.
If this revelation is gonna happen.
Round up the soldiers to fight this last battle.
Jesus did it for me and I'm gonna go
In first, with his love as my weapon,
and his message as my number one passion.
Love all through all the chaos
Going in in all this madness.

This is very well written and a thought provoking piece. I am not Christian or Catholic either, but I do believe in God too and we are all family and should be looking out for one another. Well done.
