I Was A Young Man Once

I Was A Young Man Once

A Poem by Fading Poetic
"

Written 2011.

"

I was a young man once,

          lacking in wit

          but full of wonder...

I saw the world through newborn eyes,

          each experience a mountain,

a mountain for me to climb.

Each word spoken was a truth to my ears

          my heart was innocent,

          my mind was so free...

I was a young man once,

though never more shall I be.

          Never more shall I be.

This had a rare Mr. Samuel Clemons style to it and I really was taken back by that. Partly it reminded me of something from his work, the other came from a nice sigh from the honesty with no lack of truth.

Very well written. I've read a couple of your poems and you have a nice style with good photos to accompany each poem. Very nice work.
