Northern Swamps

Northern Swamps

A Poem by R.A. Youngblood

Dark green beauty is surrounding the placid water,
Whispering loudly to arouse the sleeping drowners.
They have to furrow their existence on the swampy floor,
While yearning to befoul the bright sky and maculate clear horizon.
Power of hidden wisdom is ubiquitous,
Therefore it will revive their rotten brains
And fuse their patient cerebral nerves.
They will be given a remuneration and reward,
To achieve something beyond their ordinary world,
Something beyond the grey sight of an unsightly corpse.
