The Portland Five, dance and do the hand jive,
They are Transplants from Pittsburgh.
The gang joined each other in happy reunions,
In Pittsburgh and Portland and back again.

They visit and party down
on the sandy beach,
A few miles from home.
They are never tired of the sand or the suntan.

Sand Crabs on the beach, are just in reach.
A beer and a blanket, with a peanut butter & Jelly sandwich,
Makes for the day in the sun, to be complete.
I joined on one of these excursions, sure was fun.

A cottage on a beach, weekend with friends all around,
The Portland Five sure is the Gang, I want to hang around.
Their love and respect of their elders, goes beyond belief.
The cottage was first class, down by the beach.

A weekend at Long Beach, Washington State
I soon won't forget, many of pictures of My Daughter and I,
On a sandy rocky beach, calm waves and sea gulls.
It was lacking the sunshine, but a day at the beach,

Beats everything else there could be, in this world of ours.
A quote from the eldest daughter of mine.
I think of those times with fond memories I do, it makes me smile.
It makes me proud of her, My daughter My Child.

"The Portland Five"
Falcon1,
This writing was a declaration of thankfulness! I found it refreshing to my soul. The acceptance and realization that people and friendship are a true gift. Having a daughter, your own in the mix of this fun is a word to time being your companion in life. A good life and you have given it a voice so that we can look at what we have and look for the glory.
blessings,
Kathy
