Suddenly

Suddenly

A Poem by Falcon1
"

Romantic Word Smith

"
There she was
Then she was no more
All I got was her letters by the door
Suddenly it appeared to me
She has set me free to love another
My heart said how could that be
I dreamed she was meant for me
I seen it written in the stars
In poetry and in books
She certainly gave to me the good looks
like we would never part
It took to my heart
My world was shattered
but what did it matter
she has left our love behind
and I know her love was blind
For now she loves another
With tender loving care
I wish I had a shoulder to call my own
But for now I just can't replace her
Or call her on the phone
heart strings were left untied
I had a sense of pride
But I lost it some how
When she left her key on the table by the door
and I had her shoulder no more.

Very touching. I find it so hard to write about subjects like this without a bit of distance. I really love the last two lines.

Aw, this was so sad and heartfelt. Romantic and sweet. But when love leaves. You are lost.
