Robotic

A Poem by Fallen_Immortal
"
When a robot begins to feel...
"

Seamless and undeserving,

Not tormented by the world.

It sees the path and brings it

Toward him. Only for himself,

He lives alone.

Frozen; robotic life.

He lives to underestimate

The world. He doesn’t understand

Who he is. Who are we all?

We are this way.

Unwanted; incompetent.

He sees this life through hollow eyes.

He wants to know why he can’t feel

The ground beneath his ice cold feet.

He stands alone.

Steel cold heart that

Did not exist. It isn’t there at all.

He cries lithium tears;

As unreal as his artificial life.

He doesn’t know.

He doesn’t know.

Robot; underneath your metal skin;

Behind your life; beneath your hollow eyes.

You weren’t supposed to feel.

You weren’t supposed to ever wonder why.

The program failed and now…

Now what do you do? They let you die.

The life he can’t remember

Creeps upon him; unexisting.

He thinks, but are those really his

Thoughts he feels?

He cannot feel.

He screams; metallic voice

He’s not supposed to use.

The makers met a wall

And never did they see that they would

Let him fall.

They let him fall.

Robot; underneath your metal skin;

Behind your life; beneath your hollow eyes.

You weren’t supposed to feel.

You weren’t supposed to ever wonder why.

The program failed and now…

Now what do you do? They let you die.

Time is catching up

Upon the machine.

He wasn’t meant to live so long;

He wasn’t meant to live at all.

He’s dying.

Metal rusts away.

It decays

And can’t repair itself.

He’s learning life can’t be survived.

He won’t survive

Another night.

Robot; underneath your metal skin;

Behind your life; beneath your hollow eyes.

You weren’t supposed to feel.

You weren’t supposed to ever wonder why.

The program failed and now…

Now what do you do? They let you die.
