The Torch

Riley breaks a torch he got for his birthday.

Riley: I nagged Salazzle for weeks for her to get me a torch for my birthday. It was no good, I was getting nowhere. Then, on my birthday....

Salazzle opens a box and takes a torch out.

Salazzle: That is a water proof torch.

Riley: Water proof? Wow!

Riley gets in the bath and starts looking under the water with his torch. It stops working and Riley can't get it to work again. He goes to Salazzle.

Riley: The torch... It won't work.... It's broken....

Salazzle: What do you mean it's broken? It couldn't of just broke, how did it break?

Riley: I don't know. It just went off.

Salazzle: You must've been doing something with it!

Riley: No! It just went off.

Salazzle: Just try telling the truth!

Pause.

Riley: It just went off.

Salazzle releases some gas (not that kind of gas!) 

Riley: I was in the bath with the torch under the water.

Salazzle: Ruined! Absolutely ruined! When I said it was water proof, I meant it keep the rain off it! For weeks you nag me that you want one of these torches and what's the first thing you do with it? You wreck it! How long did it last? 3 minutes, 2 minutes, 2 minutes, 3 minutes? These things cost money!

Riley: It just went off.

The next day.

Salazzle: We're going to the shop to send the torch back.

The arrive at the shop. A Kommo-o i behind the counter.

Salazzle: You see this torch? It just went off. It's broken.

The Kommo-o picks up the torch.

Kommo-o: Well, it couldn't of just broke, how did it break?

Salazzle: It just went off.

Kommo-o: Oh, come on. These torches don't just break! How did it break?

Riley: I was in the bathroom....

Salazzle kicks Riley.

Riley: eYeah, I was in the bathroom and it just went off.

Kommo-o: I'll take it to the back to show Drampa.

Kommo-o takes the torch go away and comes back with it.

Kommo-o: Drampa couldn't get it to work either.

Riley: It just went off.

Kommo-o: You'll have to have a new one.

Salazzle: I should think so too! Thank you!

Salazzle and Riley go out.

Salazzle: What's the matter with you?! You were going to tell him, weren't you?!

Riley: It just went off.
