Determination

Determination

A Poem by Farhan Shaikh

Pushing all the troubles aside
Doing the things I like.
I am born to fly, in the dark, I'm bright
I'm not going home tonight.

Mama knows how much I love her,
But there are mountains to trek over.
So, I'm not waking up at home next morning,
I am sorry, I ignored your forewarning.

I will keep going as far as I can,
Heaven awaits me in this world.
Even when I fall and get an injured knee,
It will heal after I eat mama's recipe.

Don't be stressed mama, I'll be back to you
You'll be proud to see me anew.
Untill then, let me imagine you saying,
'My son, How was your life's  view?'

I like your use of imagery to illustrate the mother-child bond. Keep it up, man!

Wow! you can really feel the determination in the writing. I loved the rhyme scheme that was used in this piece, and I also loved how you used imagery of nature in your poem...Keep up the good work!

Wonderful! There were some instances where it was wordy and that stop the flow of the poem. But it, in a way, added to the character of your work.
Thank you so much for sharing! An enjoyable read!

This is an emotional as well as an encouraging rhyme. this depicts the path taken by most successful people today.what I mean is- struggle, hard work, separation(to achieve great heights).
Firstly, you've drawn an image of a person who is determined to accept challenges and can go to great depths. usually, this feeling comes when you want to achieve something incredible in life. In the second para, the person leaves home and struggles. Finally, a skilled person is born.

Correct mr.wordman
Thank you
I surely like poems about men offering something for their mother. There is just something about it that makes me think how good the guy is. ;) Nicely penned.
