Beauty Is Ugly

Beauty Is Ugly

A Poem by nicolas taylor carlin
"

This is a poem about how society paints a picture that women have to complete,to get the title of beautiful which causes pain to many kids and adults alike.

"

The sunsets on the hills

And my life is so very still

Not moving at all frozen beneath the wall

Of beauty

I am ugly not beautiful at all

They always tell me as I walk

The halls they scream my name

With "w***e" after it

Not knowing the pain

They cause me everyday

I go home and cry away

Putting makeup on to erase the pain

I scream and shout punching the walls

Not knowing what's wrong with me at all

I am ugly, I am ugly I am always ugly

Never beautiful never lucky

Enough to be as beautiful

As the girls on the TV

Magazines or anything in between

I am ugly and worthless

They always tell me

Never meant to live but to die on my knees

To society

You have so much compassion for women. It is a shame women feel they have to conform to some idea of beauty created by fashion magazines. Again, your expression of emotion is powerful. Lydi**
