A Poem by Bad bunny

Memorial

The Consecration of your inscription

For this legacy of insurrection

In consummating our self dominion

From your last to our inherit breaths

Cast compatriots cherishing clutch call

In Contemplation of your affection

This society your genuflection

In elevation a flourish nation

Ceaseless clasp of your spirits behest

Exults enshrinements enduring embrace

I took the hose and rinsed out he barbeque pit. Ate the last of the macaroni salad (you know the ones with the sliced granny smith apples and the sweet pickle relish). Folded up the playing card table and took the flag off of the mast flying over the garage. And yet still someone died in the dust on some foreign soil. I too am guilty of this specialized genuflection. I too only look when the calendar says to look; pay attention when reminded of how awful the weight of sacrifice is...And I promised to be a better human in 2019...great poem..dana

A wonderful elegy to the veterans and those who fought the good fight.

You think about things, and therefore you write about them, in ways that are much more complex than my frilly little noggin' is inclined toward! So I often read all your reviews before I can get my head totally around what you've written & posted here. Your writing incites some of the most amazing back-and-forths! It's good to be reminded of things in life that we often take for granted, to feel someone express these things with passion again, after years of knee-jerk type responses, being politically correct and non-offensive so long I forgot about the passionate side of many of these issues you write about. I agree that the honoring of our warriors (fallen or not) tends to be a little rigid with habit and totally lacking in passion (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

not quite sure how to take this one Bunny ...i feel a sense of sarcasm and "keeping it real" attitude that challenges Memorial Day ... no one who is rational can lift up the acts of war ... who would want to send loved ones off with such a high risk of harm apparent ...but some things are just worth fighting for .. worth the risk ... but I am not sure of the intent of this one ... need to return tomorrow and read again ... perhaps a new perspective will enlighten me ;) V2 L1 syntax is difficult for me ... i want to eliminate "of" ... i am confused as to the identity of "your" ... sometimes its "me" and sometimes the past societal norms ... just not sure ... i think overall this is brave ground to cover .. the strength of your voice for me is lessened by my confusion ;}
