Fire

Fire

A Poem by FlyingBerryFish

A spark begins, it moves and glows

A fire is born still fragile it grows

One twig to another, gentle and tame

Patient, Persistent, young new flame

Fire, higher, dancing and bold

Blazing, amazing, full heat unfolds

Until it calms to gentle coals

Ashes of all achieved goals

Simple story to remember

From spark to blaze to simple ember

Brilliant fire dies below

A distant memory

No longer grows

What I see here is a great metaphor for life. Revealing perhaps more than I should, I'm keenly aware of my own diminishing flame.
