The Noise

The Noise

A Poem by Forgotten

How do I describe it?
A noise without sound to it's name,
There for a moment yet gone,
Almost as if it's existence is but trickery,
Part of the neurological chemical flowing though my mind,
Is it part of an illusion to yet be seen by naked eyes?
I cannot fathom it's whereabouts,
Or better yet it's location of solitude,
Why am I pained by the noise?
For as it is but a fleeting phenomenon,
It is the sound with not a name to its cause.

Author's Note

Forgotten
I get a painful fleeting noise in my head at times, it's not tinnitus as it's not the right symptom, but nonetheless it catches me off guard and causes me a lot of pain. As it hit me tonight as I was just about to sleep a poem came to my head, so here it is, short and fleeting like the noise.

I tend to hear strange noises. I can not really describe them, they are just weird. This doesn't happen often but when it does it can startle me. To be honest some of the sounds have creeped me out severely. Another enjoyable read :)

I've heard that that noise is a psychic "call' from someone trying to reach you. I've also heard that it is the last time you will hear that pitch - that the sound is made by the cells that register that specific pitch - dying. I don't like that version....
Well penned

I know just how this feels; I endure the same phenomenon on a regular basis. It may just be chemically-related given how messed up mine are, but I think it goes beyond that. I love the progression from a noise without a sound to a sound without a name. That sums it up perfectly. Great piece, and obviously one that spoke to me (no pun intended).

that was a lovely poem, perhaps the imagination playing tricks or maybe an actual voice, trying to get your attention.. a sign maybe? So many thoughts this poem provoked! Great job!

Interesting...I hope it fades soon...maybe it cannot be explained...maybe it is spiritual...tuning in, channeling...who knows, potent poem though! :)

Sometime the brain is over-working. I can't sleep sometimes. I must do meditation or I won't. The brain is still a unknown place. Most of us use 3% of our brain. People who do wild drugs can open new doors. Many fall to too much vision. When you see everything and hear everything. World is scary. A lot of good books on the topic in the poem. Thank you for sharing your thoughts in the excellent poetry.
