Real Friend

Real Friend

A Poem by Brett Forsythe
"

It's hard to find real friends especially in the times we live in where lying and deceiving people has become a daily routine for many. Don't settle for people who don't deserve you.

"
Is it okay to feel like I'm in this all alone?
No one to call a real friend, no place to call my home,

Everyone tries to take but I've given all I can,
I can't do this for them no more I need to take a stand,

Honestly, I don't think I could feel any worse,
I was gifted with this heart of gold but now I see it's cursed,

Because people often brush me off like dust upon a shelf,
They don't know how hard it is to be all by yourself,

I know my best friends lie to me, some right to my face,
Little do they know but soon they all will be replaced,

Because God has told me once or twice of how my pain will end,
And he will bless me with someone to call a real friend.

I agree with your note, a true friend is hard to come by. And this really was a melancholy, honest poem, that puts the reader directly in your place. Helps them understand. A good poem Brett
