Let Me Go

Let Me Go

A Poem by Brett Forsythe
"

Just about those people who string others along for their own benefit.

"

(V1)

I’ve put a mask on my heart,

I’ve tried to tell it lies,

But it knows the truth,

It’s made up it’s mind,

You used to love me once,

So why’s it feel just the same,

After all of your stunts,

After all of your games,

(Chorus)

Just let me go,

Just set me free,

You’re all that I want,

But not what I need,

I know who you are,

I don’t like what I see,

I’m lonely enough,

I’m beggin’ you please,

Just let me go,

(V2)

No matter how many times that I ask you,

No matter how many tears that I’ve cried,

Well the things you say, they're all the same,

why won’t you tell me I’m wasting my time,

(Chorus)

Just let me go,

Just set me free,

You’re all that I want,

But not what I need,

I know who you are,

I don’t like what I see,

I’m lonely enough,

I’m beggin’ you please,

Just let me go,

(V3)

Babe I gotta tell you what kills me the most,

And it’s not not being with you,

It’s the fact you watch me waste away,

You never tell me the truth,

But don’t you worry just say goodbye,

Cause you won’t see me again,

Today my love for you will stop,

Just admit we’ve reached the end,

(Chorus)

Just let me go,

Just set me free,

You’re all that I want,

But not what I need,

I know who you are,

I don’t like what I see,

I’m lonely enough,

I’m beggin’ you please,

Just let me go,

I’m beggin’ you please,

To let me go.

Lyrics to a song? I like the format and the message... Love to hear this song sung/played, the chorus being something I can relate to.
