`Runaway`

`Runaway`

A Poem by Fran Marie

pushed by freedom's desire

 bursts of madness claim me

breaking in runaway restraint

     don't hold on to me

       i wont stay

               you can't buy my love

no longer captive to your charm

      leaving your refine preference

               walking away poor

      but free

the clothes on my back will suffice

seclusion and secrets left for you alone

               take your wealthy attributes

  and spotless limelight

                             i don't need it

                                  don't want it

                                      don't like it

i had it ..the  fifteen minutes

                  that doesn't last a lifetime

a runaway never promises

                       more time than that..

Thanks Sue, so very much;
Great poem Fran Marie, whatever our reasons for running, when we do it's just the clothes on our back that are important. Some pocket change is nice too. :)
