Pale Cashmere

Pale Cashmere

A Poem by Fran Marie

Pale Cashmere

She wore a pale cashmere sweater the day she met him for lunch,
a select application of paris nights perfume dotted behind her pierced-ears
donning pearl earrings, would do just fine, she thought.
Pink gloss skimmed the curl of her lips,as she took
another glance of herself in the mirror.

Slipping on her favorite pair of faded jeans, she seemed quite
pleased,a lacy-sash wrapped her waspy waist exquisitely.
Splashes of rhinestones on her catch-all tote
complimented her glittering cross pin on her black beret,
which tilted nicely toward one side of her head,
lending a slight-sexy peek-a -boo effect.

She was almost ready, except for what shoes she would choose to wear
Finally she settled for a pair pink rubber sole flats,
because it was pouring rain.
She was drop-dead classy-cool~as she grabbed her pink umbrella
and was on her way.

He stood there waiting for her in the rain
wearing black leather.
Raindrops licked their lips as they stood
kissing in the rain~ they decided to skip lunch
