Memoirs of love in my diary kept
Old love letters, stained in tears I have wept

Tell of our torrid love affair,Was it sin?
Two burning souls, with flame's passion within
Beneath sweet Magnolia tree's scented bouquet
Wrapped in love's rapture, we spent summer's day
Nightfall kept promise, bestowing full moon
Pure passionate moments ended too soon
then, dawn came with reality's harsh call
Awaken in his arms, not your's at all
Passion pays dearly, wrapped in Crimson Chains
Our love forbidden, when others lay claim

Still old love letters, burn within each line
Memoirs of Love, show your passion was mine

I may be accused of being old fashioned, but I love poetry where the poet has gone to the trouble to give the stanzas a flowing rhythm, and even more when there is rhyme too. There were just two lines that seemed to trip over my tongue:

>>>then, dawn came with reality's harsh call

It feels as though the rhythm has been broken like suddenly being jolted awake, so I assume this is intentional. If it is, then yes for me that works. The other line:

>>>Awaken in his arms, not your's at all

A third person? I wonder who was the the one involved in the "sinful love affair" Just a little confusion in my simple mind...
I think this is a wonderful poem, even though a subject that everyone...well I suppose so many people go through similar experiences, don't they?

Now this is how I want to write. I can certainly learn love from you my dear. The flow, rhythm, imagery all mingle together in one breathtaking piece. I'm not exaggerating when I say THIS IS A LOVELY SONNET.

This is pure poetic magic! I stand in awe at how you weave words into a wonderfully, intoxicating story.

Somewhat sad, but brutally honest. I really enjoy reading your work.
