Applejack

Applejack

A Poem by Fran Marie

Oh woe is me I have a cold
aches and pains and running nose

a fever from my head to toes
and a cough which grows and grows

It's probably pnemonia,maybe the flu
I'm in total misery thru~ and thru~
yes, I'm complaining, that is true
I feel so bad , What can I do?

Oh, yeah, I drank some tea,and it was fine
then I topped it off with a bottle of wine
plus a hot toddy of applejack brandy,on which I dined
it lowered my fever, but inflamed my mind.

Now I ask you, is this any way to spend friday night?
sicker than a dog, looking a sight
with chill upon chill, feeling a fright
I'm tired of being sick, its just not right!
