August

August

A Poem by Fran Marie

 August mornings hazy and white

with afternoons so sizzling hot.

Your stale air lingering into the night

the moon in August vapors caught.

Stars have lost their sparking glow

you made them dull and flat

The leaves on treees cannot blow,

without a breeze upon their back.

August smoldering heat

a rage inside me you stir.

 Your vanity so complete.

A fire Queen as though you were.

Remove your steamy vapid self from us,

 you're really quite a bore.

For you I have only contempt and disgust

 Oh, still August, nothing more.

Your poem flows and reads well...you share your feelings for August very well in this poem, obviously August in not one of your favorite months with it's heat and staleness. I like the phrase "A fire Queen" you used to describe this hot summer season.
I was wondering about the format you used, specifically the reason for some lines beginning further to the left than others. It appears to be intentional but I can't decipher the purpose.
I did see a spelling error in the second verse, "treees".
I enjoyed reading your poem and seeing August through your eyes (in contrast, I love these hot summer days!)
