A Sad Love Sonnet

A Sad Love Sonnet

A Poem by Fran Marie

Love I feel the distance of love grown cold
yet sweet mem'ries linger still in my mind
Whence love had meaning with desire bold
and dreams had unfold surreally sublime

'Twas a time heavenly angels did sing
and kissed our love with red roses of spring
A love as fresh as spring's wet scented rain
sweet kisses we knew, no measures of pain

Now lonely nights whisper sad tones to hear
since love has faded into days of gloom
I've half a heart left, with plenty of room
O' how it would complete if you were here.

I so loved you, with burning passion's flame
Was it that you loved me too or a game?

I do love your poetry and you always manage to pick the most complimentary pictures. Ack...that last line is the age old question. Thanks for entering the Missing Him, Missing Her contest.
