You don't make me feel loved there's nothing left to say

except that it's a fact, I 'm leaving you today

I used to feel something, an inkling that you cared

but the fire died and all that's left

are burnt embers of a love once shared

 

Now I feel nothing, so honey deal me out

I can't go on pretending and stringing you along

sending you false emotions of a love that is not

that would just  be cruel and oh so wrong

who treats me fine as wine and knows just what to do

I'm walking out your door

Between this and the chocolate fruitcake you're my idea of the perfect woman lol

I think EVERY woman would love to be able to have this poem handy to give to their insignificant other and then just walk away triumphantly. Sometimes you have to be a tough dame in this world and though this isn't the usual side you show us in your writing, it's a side that most of us girls have to keep handy for moments like this. Love this one...off it goes into my favorites, for uh, future reference. :)

Wow how aggressive. I find this a refreshing change from the usual I-love-you-so-don't-leave-me poem. While it really is mean, I love the conviction and the unfaltering confidence. I can say I'm quite glad the ending didn't rebuke all the earlier claims and instead stayed steadily (if not even more) firm on her claims.

This is a cruel poem, did the love just up and leave? Or was it killed by indiffrence? This reminds me of a woman who just decied one day to stop loving her "significant other" for no reason otherthan she was tired of him.
