Lost Love

The Separation had made him miserable
so he drowned his sorrows in a near by cafe down the
road every night and flirted with the local girls, no harm in that
so he thought.
He tried to forget his true love, the one that made his life
heaven on earth but he could not forget her
He wondered if the separation had been his fault?
Would she forgive and forget, take him back? these were
the questions that plaque him.
He hadn't a clue why this separation came about in
the first place
Sure his job required that he travel quite a bit, she knew the trips
would take him away a lot so why all the fuss?
It must have been the buisness convention up
north last year, that's when the fighting started after he returned
from that trip out of town.
Trips were taking its toll and she had a suspicious nature to begin with.
She had the notion he had been unfaithful and she told him to take a hike.
Well, that had been a year ago, as he ordered another drink he pulled
from his wallet a faded photo of her,his mind stilled in deep thought
lost in her eyes and he knew he still loved her.
Now his days are filled with lonely tears of a lost love.
