Dreamer's Flight

Dreamer's Flight

A Poem by Celie Rose
"

Message of hope, peace and goodwill

"

Dreamer's Flight

there is a dreamer in me.

there is no limit or boundary.

I can go anywhere I want

in the depths of my mind,

I'll flaunt.

I can soar high in the sky,

like an eagle in flight.

take in beautiful scenery,

colorful landscapes,

rolling meadows, majestic

mountains, breath-taking

valleys, and deep blue seas.

I am a morning dove

with tapered wings,

blue, white, red, brown,

does describe me.

mindanao bleeding-heart,

this sets me apart.

an endemic dove,

in perfect harmony with

with mother earth.

fussy acorn woodpecker,

constantly gives lectures.

pecking on mighty tree trunks,

deliver her hopeful message.

she wants to get the attention,

of those who fell

on deaf ear's intention.

hope is what she wants

to mention.

and to comfort those

who are rejected

and neglected.

she is equipped

with a red helmet,

her sword she uses is

soft spoken words,

she is firm as they flow

from her sharp piercing beak.

body amour of black feathers,

protects her body

and claw-like feet.,

however many will resist.

there is so much

wickedness.

I am a modest

and lowly sparrow

with an olive leaf from

a palm tree,

filled with peace and goodwill,

therefore.

for all men to welcome.

I climb ever so high,

exhausted from flapping,

has been a long journey flight.

but I continue my struggle.

as I fly through the evening air,

I  gracefully glide.

I go higher and higher,

the odds I did defy.

my load was pretty heavy

but worth this life-saving

endeavor.

as for this burden,

I knew that I must persevere,

spread tiny wings

and now I'm suddenly here.

I perch my nest before mankind,

and offer this gift.

now it's up to them,

my journey now ends.

a long awaited rest I finally

win.

This is a beautifully descriptive poem. I especially enjoyed the personified description of the acorn woodpecker.

This is a very interesting poem and I especially liked how it flowed from verse to verse. I really enjoyed the description of each bird and found myself dreaming as I read through each and every one. The description of the woodpecker instantly left me in awe for I had never thought of the woodpecker that way (e.g. "...she is equipped with a red helmet, her sword she uses is soft spoken words..."). And the ending of this beautiful poem just took my breath away and instantly made me think of the gift the sparrow is offering as the song that it sings every dawn, leaving the interpretation thereof up to us. I would like to commend you on your creativity. Keep up the good work and good luck in your future endeavors. I look forward to reading more writing by you in the future.

Some of our greatest adventures are just in the mind while the feet never leave earth. Kathie

I love how you made a reference to the leading heartburn as it is amazing as a unique type of bird that has a red cross that reminds one of an actual bleeding heart. Plus it's really cool bird.

Review; Well written, it flows smoothly when read and your choice of words give clarity to the intent and emotional depth of the poem. Epic poems like this often get lost in scope (which is why I am not an epic poem fan) but you did a great job with the storyline and message of the poem. Standing Ovation! Clap! Clap! Clap! Clap! Clap!
