Moonlight

Moonlight

A Poem by Fréyjä Helvití
"

Another memory...

"

An orb that glows above the pale night sky,
A melody, a sorrowful symphony
One more lonesome song,
Within your arms is where I belong.

A conjuring wind, willow trees bend
Comfort me, cradle me,
To my heart’s content.
Sing to me my heaven sent.

Soaring thoughts of emptiness,
My visions now cloudy, lost?
Tell me reason, where have you gone?
Now I lay awake till dawn.

Pages covered with blood of mine,
Lingering drops of serpentine,
One more painful red line,
Love has finally run out of time.
Goodbye my wicked valentine.

I very much liked this one. "Pages covered with blood of mine," could be a metaphor for words or literal blood, both of which I comprehend as well as "one more painful red line." I especially like the second stanza and the "comforting wind." Well written, Princess. Thank you for sharing.
