“Melodies of the damned”

“Melodies of the damned”

A Poem by Fréyjä Helvití

Weep, weep to suppress the lament

But salvation now shot dead

Murderous damnation I once feared

When will mourning come to end?

Cry, cry to Mother of Mirth

How has come to be?

To forge the Heaven and Hell,

The blue skies and blues seas

Fall, fall to abyssal defeat

My heroine! You are out of reach

I hear no songs of the sirens

Nor the scent of mercy sweet

Lie, lie to drown in deception

My only salvation, my only escape

Forever dwell in make-believe memories

And deny the burning faith

Scream, scream to excruciation

Endure whatever pain surpass

They laugh at thy victorious murder

So scream to the Father of wrath

Kill, kill to avenge mortality

Mutilate their limbs and bones

Revenge as sweet as saccharin

Passion as red as blood

Fall, cry, scream, and die!

You shall persecute me no more!

Now weak, now hopelessly alive!

Immortality is yours no more!

Sing now my sirens sweet

Though peace has lost its way

Now and forever the blood in me

Shall seek another spill some day

Man I love dark poetry, and this is no exception.
You took words and painted a beautiful canvas of melancholy, and there's a sense of pride of being in despair and hopelessness.

In a way it kinda reads like an anthem for the Damned--I guess I should memorize this to say right before I go to bed every sunrise ;]

well... Glad you liked it.. LOL.
You paint a bleak and gothic picture with your very creative words, the first line really sets it going

I love how you use darkness as a canvas for your poetry and paint a mesmerizing and beautiful picture with it. Even though the majority of my poems are about light and love and hope, I can appreciate poems that come from a dark place if it is real.

Beauty can be found anywhere. Even in darkness. Although not many can see it, but few people like me.. read more
"Kill, kill

Fall, cry, scream, and die"

That kind of rhythm and the smooth last verse really give the eventual resolution a really lasting impact. Nice work!

The darkness lies within us all... and when something causes us to fall into it, the climb out can be a long one... masterful writing.

Thank you so much...
the passion is possession, the moment is a beautifully dark world,
strangely alluring and deadly to the point of seduction, brilliant
