What if...?

What if...?

A Poem by Virtue

What if the world you thought was right, was wrong?

What if the songbirds that would sing, had no song?

What if the ones you loved, loved you not?

What if the life you had, was all for naught?

What if the hopes you had, were but whispers of a dream?

What if the friends you had, were not what they seem?

What if the pen you had, could no longer write?

What if the bird you saved, could no longer take flight?

What if the love you had, was love no more?

But what if the love you had, was beautiful to the core?

What if the bird you saved, was a gorgeous swan?

What if the pen you had, could draw the rising dawn?

What if the friends you had, challenged you to be better?

What if the hopes you had, could never be fettered?

What if the life you had, was your every reason?

What if the ones you loved, loved you like the summer season?

What if the songbirds that would sing, sang proudly with all their might?

And what if the world you thought was wrong, was just so right?

I don't write a lot (and I really haven't shared my writings much with others), but when I get the inspiration to write I am reminded of how much I love it. I fill my quiet time with music and books a.. more..
