At sixty-one, my course has run
and the end of this life nears.
Some things I've done were lots of fun;
others brought only tears.

If I could, I surely would
have some events re-arranged.
Some were good but others should
if possible be changed.

If I could invite the Gods to re-write
several chapters of this life.
I'd surely delight in setting things right
and avoiding a great deal of strife.

If I had my way, I'd go back to the days
when I was a high school kid.
I'd have diff'rent visions, make diff'rent decisions
and change many things that I did.

I would love to go back and do things differently as well.

The beginning is sad - I don't like to think about life ending. The good part is that you remember some fun times throughout your lifetime.

If only we could have the wisdom we have after all of our trials, oh, the things we could do!
