The Vow

The Vow

A Poem by Gentleman's Art

My heart raced with every step you made towards the alter,

It pained but I could bare it because u came closer and closer with every stroke of the second,

Your strides turned my thoughts of you that were shackled in my thinker,

To the untamed feelings flowing in my blood tripper,

I kept hoping endlessly that you could run to me or I to you,

And feel your warm breaths warming my skin from the valley in my chest to the furthest inch of my heel,

But I could not move for the moment was too great,

As great as witnessing perfection that would be engraved in my best memories,

Close to those of your smile that seduced me to create a halo over my head,

Your smell that intoxicated my lungs with love,

And u, my darling, who made me rip my heart to your hands for control.

They say the perfect half of your soul is a companion and a lover mostly found in dreams and fantasies,

But u make my sweetest of dreams that you don't appear transfigure to nightmares,

And fantasies I've created become as real as the flesh and bones I live and breathe in

I can try to force my ticker to perspective and explain everything,

But time was the one commodity that paused me from relaying my full affections,

Now I've grasped this illusive element at hand,

And the rest of my life with u my beloved wife,

To expand on the three letter heading surrounding our tale,

Honey........... My dearest soldier to my soul and salvation,

I LOVE YOU
