It's A Shame

It's A Shame

A Poem by G
"

Love and pain- simply put.

"
His eyes capture the whole world
His laugh brightens the room.
His hugs, filled with warmth and love
keep me safe.

His smile paints a portrait
His stature stiff and poised.
The way he moves, laughs and sings
make me feel safe.

It's a shame what I was blind to,
what I couldn't see.

It's a shame I lost him.

This offering presents a lesson. The first two verses seem to be a litany of praises and joy. This feeling is abruptly cut off at the knees by the two laconic admissions that form the poem's end. That he doesn't blame the other gives us hope for the speaker. Chalk it up to experience and move on. Well done.

Thank you very much, that is the emotion I was trying to convey in the poem :)
