My Love Is a Wild Thing

My Love Is a Wild Thing

A Poem by Gaia Octavia

My love is a wild thing
With no sense of shame
It blazes bright and douses me
With thoughts and feelings left unnamed

Time keeps turning 'round me so,
Lonely nights do feed the flame
My burning heart still beating wild,
For my love to rope and tame

But I will not go quietly
For what I crave, I also fear
I will buck and protest so,
At the thought of you so near

And so it's best to live my life
Safely in my solitude,
Each day passing as I learn
To love myself enough for two

Alas, you break my heart with each line of your agony known alone. Solitude is my fortress and love is my wooden horse filled with danger. Perhaps it is the same for you. Be kind to yourself, dear poet.

It is very much the same for me, and a wonderful way to put it :-)
