Idolatry

Idolatry

A Poem by Gaia Octavia

If I didn't give him
his very own religion
what would've become of him?

What would've been the sum of him
when viewed with naked eyes?

Its an interesting idea developed here, the final line is tasty deserving of a tangent all its own. I see or perhaps its project, layers in this piece which have exploratory possibilities. The word "him" repeated in this work is unexpected, though I found it does not seem to burden this piece, in fact could be a part of its power.
