These Streets

These Streets

A Poem by Gaia Octavia

Washed away,
the colors run,
enough to chase
out everyone

See them go
oh, how they fly,
none take the time
to question why

Closing eyes
and blocking ears,
there's no one left
to quell their fears

Watch them flee,
stuff down their shame,
and turn their backs
to the unnamed

They'll never learn
this truth unknown:
that they're the ones
without a home

Your words honest and true.
"They'll never learn

The above lines are realistic words and thoughts. People don't want to see the homeless. Two months ago. A skilled violin player dressed poorly. Play in the subway of New York. No-one stopped to see her or give her some tips. I would of been honored to had heard her. I pray this world become more kinder. Lead with concern, kindness and love. Thank you Gaia for sharing the amazing words and poetry.

✌ .
oooooooh! Holy kwap, what a poem! You had a line which reminded me of "theirs not to make reply, theirs not to reason why, there's but to do and die." I couldn't help it....I went there. It somehow guided me there. I love this poem! Well freaking done!
