Venetian Ball

Venetian Ball

A Poem by GalaxyGhost

1762, A ballroom made for two

Sweet as 24, she appeared

A dress in royal gold, black, and blue

One gentleman no one feared

Catching his eyes, bleeds his heart true

They danced upon a music box

Out of each others' league

For she called herself Locks

And he became love's key

Midnight, across a lover's flight

Breeze caress those satin curtains, please

Masquerade as rose petals floated

They met on that rush river moated

On the bridge under gondolas

Picture painted Monet in song-la's

Once candles burn low

Envy through man's blow

Let them bleed red

Only one hero fed

Valentine's cupid love was mine
