Words

Words are powerful. Words can still hurt, no matter how much they are shut out. The more you hear them, the believable they become.

Murderous words are the most painful sounds

Hear them sing and talk aloud.

A fair maiden or the dashing prince

Sings their way into the sweet hints;

However, the world's words are cruel

And it makes a child appear a fool.

There is no peace, no good, no light

That even the saints can try to fight

The scratchy words that causes rawness to my throat

As I put them all in their graves and sailing boats.

But a bigger ship with bloody sails oozing down

To the purgatory halls where the dead frown.

I sniff and snuff out the lights in the lanterns

Where I prepared my tomb with no return.

How grave;

Don't save...

As the river parts as the ship comes,

The watery grave of words is blood.

Hehehehe. Some more to confirm...Words used in the wrong time, and said by the wrong person, with the wrong attitude can sometimes do worse damage than some weapons. Well, they can serve better purposes, but snakes usually use them for their filthy goals. To hurt someone, to lie, to achieve goals the easier way. Tho all that is easy. I'd like to see people use it more often for helping someone feel better, to show care and support more often. Nicely done.

Good point! The phrase "sticks and stones may break my bones, but words may never hurt me" was always a saying I disliked as words, when repeated enough, becomes believable. Thank you for reviewing!

Very good point. Words can be destructive if used incorrectly . I also agree with you on the whole "sticks and stones" because you can ignore but you can't forget. Nice poem.

Words can create something good or destroy something good... It depends on the one who uses it... Sadly this world is using the words to destruction more more, for own profit and to cause harm to others... But wise people will use to create good and to do good rather than using it in the purpose of doing wrong to others... Excellent thought on the concept of 'words'...
