Tragically Pisces

Tragically Pisces

A Poem by K
"

What can I say? I'm a pisces.

"
Further than you can hold your breath.
That is how distance is measured in my world.
I find difficulty in diving deeper through this abstract sea.
If I could just make sense of my emotions,
I might reach you.
If I could just grasp logic for a moment,
Sanity might prevail.

I can feel you.

Closer

But,
No.

I can't.
I am tragically Pisces.

I like this. I identified with the part about being caught up in your emotions..trying to make sense of them during this fateful dive...trying to get to that person. Why does it seem everything is unattainable, so close and yet sooo out of reach? "What can I say ? I'm tragically Pisces. " I never really thought of it as a tragedy to be a Pisces but here the way you put it in a trickling down sort of simplistic manner i actually feel it more... and sometimes I guess it can be a bit of a downer to be a Pisces. But I love it. We do have our upsides and its quite nice, and so is this write.

I like your poem. Like Cassandra I can relate to the part about being caught up in emotions. And also like Cassandra I've never thought it as a tragedy to be a Pisces either. I actually like being a Pisces but still... I like your poem. :)

I like the way it thinned at the end. I'm a pisces. I love the image of the speaker holding breaths while diving as deep as our limitations allow. The metaphor is great, because like this conveys, words fall short, and we can't fully make sense of our emotions most of the time. It's quite a shame, but it comes with the (human) territory.

Have a nice day!
