The Tides of Fate

The Tides of Fate

A Poem by Garu
"

My first attempt at poetry in a very long time.

"

The tides of fate lead me

Along the oceans shore

My soul drifts apart from my body

My senses work no more

Over the sea my spirit flies

It soars without direction

Always trying to find the girl

Who once held my affection

Too long have I searched

Only to have searched in vain

For the one I knew so long ago

I look for her to this very day

My soul is tired

But I must persist

For if I stop now

I might as well not exist

I really enjoy metered poems, and enjoy the flowing of this one. It sounds casual and not forced, including the rhyme in the last stanza. Well written!

Thank you. This is the first poem I've written in a very long while.
