Then Children

Then Children

A Poem by George Coombs
"

lease read carefully

"

Then Children

then children

running... laughter

dancing on summer air

happy as moment are precious

bodies gilded

with kind summer light

joyful in creation

their refuge is innocence

as a breeze moved through

pausing... looking

music for the eyes from

the golden harp of feeling

i walk on slowly

away from them

i hear a child laughing

down the years

running into

the arms of time

still i move on

my path in life

then real freedom

bathing in memory

slowly quietly

entering waiting light
