It gets better Trust Me.

It gets better Trust Me.

A Poem by Dillon "Gerald" Steele
"

This is a story about me and my ex

"

My life before you

Was just a bunch of blank pages

It felt like there were always grey clouds

But never any rain.

I was living in a home

With no furniture

It was as if I were at the park

But there were no trees.

My life without you

Was hallways full of students

But never anyone to talk to.

It was one giant table for one please

Music was always playing

But there was to one to dance with

And so now I sit with headphones on

Because speakers mean I have to

Open up to the world.

You were a garden filled with wonders beyond belief,

I was but only a fallen leaf in October.

You picked me up when I fell

And you were the one who tripped me.

Now time has gone by

And life after you is filled with

Sunsets at the beach

There is music playing

And my friends and I are all dancing

Suddenly a leaf falls,

I look up at the tree

And I put my pad and pen down

So I can enjoy what the world has to offer

I realize it was never you I needed

It was what the world gave me

That was always right.
