Who dances in rags

says Cinderella?

Have a  little faith

my dear she waves her

wand Bibbidi -  Bobbide- Boo,

You must be back

before the monsters and

ghouls come out.

before the witching hour

when the clock strike's

12midnight.

A Beautiful stranger

walks into the Masquerade

ball.

Cinderella of the  ball

beauty of the Beast.

When the clock  strike's

midnight  you  leave as

the monsters and ghouls

will come out.

Those words ring in her

mind and she looked again

and ran as she did her  mask

fell,

As the lurking shadows come

out she disappeared  and

she was in  rags again.

One kiss of true love

and I will be human again.

She is my true  love

that can break this evil curse.

The prince set out  to

find his Princess!

They searched everywhere

but one home of one widowed

mother and 3 daughters.

They knocked a cruel

older woman answered,

Hello  Ma 'dam how

many ladies are in this home

2 where is your 3rd daughter

there is not another.

May we see if this

Masquerade mask fits

any of the young woman

of the home.

Ursula the  oldest sister

not the prettiest  tried on

the mask but it wouldn't

go over her huge nose

that stuck out like the wicked

witch,

Next was  Elsa  second

oldest sister she seemed

plain and simple but had

a selfish  heart and  the mask

wouldn't fit over her big head.

Then a small soft voice

says may I  try too as she walks

down the stairs  in rags,

Who  is this Oh!  she's no one

this is the other younger lady

you hide what might be your

name young woman  I am Cinderella.

Now it's Cinderella's  turn  and

the Masquerade mask she puts it on

it's  a  perfect   fit.

That's impossible she was here

all night not at the ball.

Get Cinderella ready

she will wed the prince

STOP!  she goes no where.

Ma 'dam   Priscilla  you

and your daughters will

be thrown in the  pit and you

will be  the servants

to the future princesses

Cinderella  saw a kind heart

before her and a Beast  when

she kissed her prince the spell broke

and he was a man again.

So when the witching hour

hour comes and the Monsters

and ghouls will be about

you could meet your prince too.

A very good tale.
I'm not one of those who adheres to the Disney version of the fairy tales. I consider this thinking outside the box. Entertaining and appropriate for the Halloween season.

I like the idea of mixing Gothic Halloween imagery and fairytales (most fairytales originated in horror stories anyway).

NOTES: You'll find many folks balking at your mixing fairytale princess plots (example: Cinderalla didn't kiss the Beast, that was Belle). I think too, the piece begins to ramble a bit.
